[rubi'jak], Louis François, englischer Bildhauer französischer Herkunft, * Lyon zwischen 1702 und 1705, ✝ London 11. 1. 1762; wohl ausgebildet von N. Cousteau in Paris und B. Permoser in Dresden, ging gegen 1735 nach England; reiste 1752 nach Rom, seitdem beeinflusst von den Werken G. L. Berninis; schuf Denkmäler (u. a. für G. F. Händel, 1738, London, Victoria and Albert Museum), Grabmäler (Monument des Herzogs von Argyll, 1745-49, London, Westminster Abbey; Grabmal für General William Hargraves, 1757, ebenda), Porträtbüsten und Statuen. Roubillac war ein Vertreter der Rokokoskulptur in England.
